Benexia^® is a regional group of family-owned companies that manage the agricultural and industrial production of chia seeds and chia ingredients.  It also offers a fully integrated & quality certified (GAP, GMP & HACCP) supply chain based in Bolivia, Argentina and Paraguay.

Our organization tightly controls supply chain performance: managing production growth, raw material quality, and strategic process improvement in terms of financing and production risk management.

In the early 1990s the University of Arizona and the Argentinean Government sponsored the “North Western Argentina Regional Project“ (NWARP) that set out to identify and evaluate the industrial production of some alternative crops.  The goal? To improve the economy and life for farmers in North Western Argentina. Chia’s exceptional nutritional benefits and strong potential as a sustainable food source captured everyone’s attention.

After the project’s completion, participants including independent growers, experts and scientists created a Growers’ Cooperative to build and ensure a long-term future for the chia seed.  And with that came the birth of Benexia^®, in 2005.

Benexia quickly expanded activities from agriculture to the commercialization and industrial processing of chia.  We are now widely known as the Specialist and Worldwide Leader in natural and healthy, advanced nutrition chia ingredients.   Through our modern manufacturing capacities, we offer a variety of novel solutions for the industry that focus on growing markets trends and categories.
